Key Responsibilities
1. Product Inspection & Testing
- Conduct visual, physical, and sensory inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Perform routine tests to check for consistency in taste, texture, color, and overall quality.
- Ensure packaging and labeling meet standards.
2. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure products meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP), and customer specifications.
- Monitor sanitation and hygiene practices in production areas.
- Enforce food safety protocols and report any deviations.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformances.
- Prepare reports on quality issues and suggest corrective actions.
- Assist in investigations of customer complaints related to product quality.
4. Process Monitoring & Improvement
- Identify and report quality issues to supervisors and production teams.
- Recommend improvements in production processes to reduce defects and waste.
- Participate in training programs for staff on food safety and quality standards.
5. Equipment & Sample Management
- Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
- Collect product samples for laboratory analysis if needed.
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS
Education
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (preferred).
Experience
- Prior experience in food manufacturing quality control is a plus.
