Plastic and Tools, Inc. is looking for a qualified and experienced Quality Control (QC) Engineer to join our team.
Our company is located in a world-class industrial subdivision south of Manila, with more than 100 employees and over 25 years of experience in the industry.
The QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that products, materials, and manufacturing processes meet established quality standards and specifications. The QC Engineer will conduct inspections and testing, identify and document quality issues, implement corrective actions, and work closely with production and other departments to maintain consistent product quality.
Develop, implement, and maintain inspection procedures, standards, and control plans for plastic products.
Conduct and supervise incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Verify product dimensions, appearance, functionality, and other customer-specific requirements.
Ensure inspection activities are performed using appropriate measuring and testing equipment.
Review and maintain inspection records, quality reports, and other required documentation.
Ensure products are released only after meeting established quality requirements.
Monitor injection molding processes for defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, weld lines, discoloration, dimensional variation, and other molding-related defects.
Work with Production and Process Engineering to establish and maintain appropriate
process parameters.
Assist in troubleshooting molding problems and determining their root causes.
Monitor first-piece approval and production quality during mold and material changes.
Support mold trials, process validation, and new product introduction activities.
Monitor blow molding operations and product quality against approved specifications.
Inspect critical characteristics such as wall thickness, weight, dimensions, capacity,
appearance, leakage, and structural integrity. _
Assist in troubleshooting defects including uneven wall thickness, flash, deformation, pinholes, leaks, poor comparison distribution, and dimensional instability.
Coordinate with Production and Engineering to establish appropriate process controls.
Coordinate with the Tooling and Engineering teams regarding mold and tool-related quality issues.
Inspect molded products to identify defects associated with mold condition, wear, alignment, venting, cooling, and tooling setup.
Participate in mold try-outs, mold acceptance, and qualification activities.
Recommend corrective actions for tooling-related defects.
Maintain records of mold-related quality problems and corrective actions.
Identify, document, segregate, and disposition non-conforming materials and products in accordance with company procedures.
Lead or participate in root-cause analysis using appropriate problem-solving tools such as 5 Why's
Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure recurrence is prevented.
Communicate significant quality issues to concerned departments and management.
Establish and monitor quality indicators and key process characteristics.
Use statistical tools such as SPC, control charts, Pareto analysis, capability studies, and
trend analysis where applicable.
Monitor process capability and identify opportunities for improvement.
Prepare periodic quality reports and communicate significant trends and issues to
management.
Assist in investigating customer complaints and product quality concerns.
Prepare investigation reports and corrective action responses.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding raw material, component, packaging, or tooling-
related quality issues.
Support supplier evaluation and incoming material quality activities when required.
