Job summary

Detpak Packaging Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Auditor to ensure all procedures and products meet quality and safety standards in line with regulatory requirements.

You will inspect raw materials, monitor production lines, perform tests, maintain QC documentation, and support corrective actions to prevent defects.

Role requires attention to detail, adherence to sanitation protocols, and collaboration with Operators and Supervisors across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prevents errors in production by routine inspection of raw materials, line inspections and product testing.
• Evaluates the production environment to ensure safety standards and advise responsible parties.
• Maintains the company’s quality systems to ensure compliance to all Food Safety Standards including responsibility for all Document Control and Records.
• Acts as catalysts for change and continuous improvement in performance, quality and safety.
• Supports Planning with job bag preparation and art plates maintenance.
• Maintains the cleanliness of QC laboratory/office and equipment.
• Reads specifications and studies artworks to understand quality requirements.
• Checks products on each line at set inspection intervals, measuring dimensions, examining functionality and performing weight checks; coordinates with operators to correct deviations.
• Conducts hourly print quality checks using spectrophotometer per PQM process.
• Makes decisions to shut down production when processes do not conform to specifications.
• Conducts specific quality tests to evaluate materials, work environment and components.
• Checks QC Sheets for each line, resolves questionable entries with operators and escalates if needed.
• Performs monthly swab testing on machines and personnel to verify sanitation; repeats tests until passing.
• Maintains all QC-related documents and test reports.
• Conducts internal quality, housekeeping and safety audits.
• Assists in preparing work order bags and assembling required items for job bags.
• Creates shipper/pack labels for job bags if necessary.
• Cleans and maintains QC laboratory equipment and office following cleaning procedures.

Position Purpose

To ensure that all company procedures and products adhere to established quality and safety standards, comply with mandatory regulatory requirements and satisfy customer’s expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prevents errors in production that lead to product defects including routine inspection of raw materials, conducting regular line inspections and product testing before release in accordance with established quality standards

2. Evaluates the production environment to ensure conditions meet safety standards and advise responsible parties accordingly

3. Maintains the company’s quality systems to ensure compliance to all Food Safety Standards including responsibility for all Document Control and Records.

4. Acts as catalysts for change and continuous improvement in performance, quality and safety

5. Supports Planning with job bag preparation and art plates maintenance.

1. Maintains the cleanliness of QC laboratory/office especially laboratory equipment

INDICATIVE TASKS

1. Reads specifications and studies artworks to understand the quality requirements of products

2. Checks products being made by each line at set inspection intervals based on the required inspection parameters including measuring dimension, examining functionality then comparing to specifications and quantity check by weight/random manual count; works with the machine operators to correct any parameter found to be off limits

3. Conducts hourly print quality check using spectrophotometer based on PQM (Print Quality Management) process supplied by TMS/McDonald’s.

4. Makes decisions concerning product quality during line inspection, including shutting down the production line when processes do not conform to specifications

5. Conducts specific quality tests to evaluate the materials routinely used during production, the work environment and components during production

6. Checks that the machine operators are doing the required inline quality checks every 30 minutes and accomplishing the Quality Control Sheets (QCS)

7. Rejects all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations; raises a Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to record the rejections

8. Performs analytical tests, inspections, and monitoring of incoming raw materials/packaging and finished goods for specification compliance

9. Maintains “floor presence” as an auditor of quality throughout the processing facility

10. Gathers samples from production lines at the end of each shift for required retention; packs and labels the samples appropriately

11. Checks the Quality Control Sheets (QCs) accomplished by each production line every shift; investigates questionable entries, if any, and resolves them with the line operator; escalates any related concerns with the Production Team Leader and Production/Maintenance Supervisor, if needed

12. Performs swab testing on production machines and people every month to verify effectiveness of sanitation procedures; in case of failure, requires repeat sanitation of the affected machine/individual and conducts repeat swab testing until a passing mark is obtained

13. Maintains all QC-related document files including internal test reports, incoming goods verification and QCS

14. Conducts internal quality, housekeeping and safety audits

15. Assists in the preparation of work order job bags; puts together all the items required to be placed inside a job bag including art plates, artwork, material specifications, labels and sample products in the absence of the Planning Assistant

16. Creates shipper/pack labels for job bags, if necessary

17. Cleans and maintains QC laboratory equipment and office following set cleaning procedures including sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, wiping and disinfecting
