Job summary

Side is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Software QA Tester with a background in basic programming to join our team in Makati City, Philippines. You will design and develop features while applying strong testing practices to ensure performance, stability, and scalability across web and mobile platforms.

The role emphasizes API testing, backend testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This project-based 6-month contract offers onsite work and compensation up to PHP 45,000.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manual and API testing with a focus on API and backend testing.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, request/response validation, and JSON/XML parsing.
• Experience with Command Line API execution and Postman.
• Version control and issue tracking tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jira).
• PHP source code understanding (debugging, code review).
• Experience drafting test cases and test reports.
• Excellent English communication; on-site availability in Makati City.

Responsibilities

• Perform unit testing within the BFF layer to validate components and service logic.
• Conduct API testing (functional and error scenarios), RESTful APIs, request/response validation, and JSON/XML parsing.
• Proficient in Command-line and SQL/back-end testing.
• Perform version control using CI/CD tools such as GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Azure.
• Design comprehensive test strategies for Backend for Frontend and integrated services.
• Create and execute test cases based on functional and technical specifications.
• Manage defect lifecycle, including bug tracking, prioritization, and ticket operations in Jira.
• Provide continuous feedback to development teams to enhance test coverage and stability.
