ZAMA Precision Industry Manufacturing Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for electronic components (e.g., cable harnesses).
The role involves creating, executing, and implementing all necessary documents from concept to mass production, and leading containment and corrective actions using the 8D methodology. You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, and other functions to drive product quality, support cost reduction projects, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Quality Assurance Engineer for electronic components (e.g., cable harnesses), with responsibility for creating, executing, and implementing all necessary documents from the beginning of the concept phase up to mass production.
Facilitate and manage the containment, problem-solving, and closure of customer claims via the 8D methodology.
Identify and drive quality improvements during product development projects and drive quality assurance process improvements with regard to variety, cost, quality, and failure rate. Identify the impact of new products on quality concepts in order to develop the required architecture and solutions.
Responsible for ensuring utmost customer satisfaction in terms of quality (e.g., timely actions, updates, and resolution of 8D cases and quality notifications).
Actively participate in customer and internal quality incidents through timely dissemination of notifications, containment actions, root cause analysis, verification, and implementation of corrective actions.
Derive appropriate and applicable solutions to customer and internal quality issues together with Production, Engineering, and other support functions. If necessary, initiate involvement of ZAMA R&D and other ZAMA production and support locations.
Plan and execute tasks to realize the series quality assurance process for the component(s)/finished good(s) in the project.
Ensure the maturity of the component(s)/finished good(s) in the assigned production area together with the component-responsible Production team.
Provide the necessary input for maturity level assessment to the local coordinator.
Report the project maturity level for the quality assurance area within the core team.
Resolve quality issues and support cost reduction projects.
Coordinate and perform internal process/product audits.
Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to processes.
Prepare necessary measurement tools and equipment needed for new products.
Authorized to give disposition to quality issue-affected lots and to discontinue production until appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
Identify system issues within manufacturing areas and take appropriate actions to address them, initiate improvements if necessary.
Responsible for supervising and carrying out Outgoing Inspection activities to maintain the quality of finished goods.
Monitor the performance of the Outgoing Quality System to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency.
Overall responsibility for the series quality assurance process of the component(s)/finished good(s) in the assigned production area.
Approve process release from a quality assurance perspective.
Represent his/her area of expertise and its interests within the production team.
Perform predictive maturity assessments.
Meet defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and individual goals.
Ensure that quality, safety, and health systems are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved.
Supervise QA Technicians to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
Develop a skill matrix and identify required coaching programs for all staff to improve skills and efficiency.
Meet defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and individual goals.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent).
At least five (5) years of experience in Quality as an Engineer, Supervisor, or equivalent
Experience in project management.
Exposure to working in an intercultural environment.
Knowledge of FMEA, DFMA, 7QC Tools, 8D, and other problem-solving methodologies
Knowledge of statistical analysis and tools such as Minitab
Familiarity with ISO, IPC, IEC standards, and other standards related to wire harnesses and connectors
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Good decision-making skills.
Proficient in English (written and verbal).
