Job summary

Royu Industrial Corporation, via its Royu division, is seeking a PVC Chemist (R&D) in Calumpit, Bulacan. The role focuses on developing new PVC formulations, ensuring product quality, and conducting comparative studies to qualify materials and processes.

You will work to optimize formulations for PVC pipes, manage material lifecycles, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and improve products while reducing costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or a related field.
• PRC license is a plus/encouraged.
• Knowledge of extrusion processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.
• Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.
• Ensure raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.
• Qualify new products and evaluate cost‑effective raw materials and material alternatives.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product issues and implement appropriate solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to: QMS and Quality Manager

Work Schedule: 5-day work week

The PVC Chemist (R&D) will ensure product quality and develop new formulations for PVC products and other materials. He/she will be responsible for conducting comparative product studies, testing and optimizing product formulations, and qualifying new products and materials.

Other responsibilities include:

• Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.
• Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.
• Ensure that raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.
• Qualify new products and evaluate cost-effective raw materials and material alternatives.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product-related issues and implement appropriate solutions.

To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or similar
• PRC license is a plus

• Knowledge in the extrusion process is an advantage
