The role involves life cycle management of PVC materials, process optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve material issues and drive cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or similar.
• PRC license is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in SPC and FMEA is a plus.
• Good project management and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge in the extrusion process is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.
• Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.
• Ensure that raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.
• Qualify new products and evaluate cost‑effective raw materials and material alternatives.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product‑related issues and implement appropriate solutions.

About The Role

Location: Calumpit, Bulacan

Role Type: Full-time

Reporting to: QMS and Quality Manager

Work Schedule: 5-day work week

The PVC Chemist (R&D) will ensure product quality and develop new formulations for PVC products and other materials. He/she will be responsible for conducting comparative product studies, testing and optimizing product formulations, and qualifying new products and materials.

Other responsibilities include:

• Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.


• Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.


• Ensure that raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.


• Qualify new products and evaluate cost‑effective raw materials and material alternatives.


• Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product‑related issues and implement appropriate solutions.
