Job summary

Royu Industrial Corporation, through its Royu Systems division, seeks a PVC Chemist (R&D) in Calumpit, Bulacan to develop formulations for PVC pipes and other plastics and to ensure product quality. The role reports to the QMS and Quality Manager and requires full-time commitment in a 5-day work week.

Responsibilities include formulation optimization, material qualification, and cross-functional collaboration to drive cost savings and continuous improvement in product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required or similar.
• Strong problem solving and project management skills.
• Knowledge in extrusion process is an advantage.
• Quality assurance experience in PVC/plastic products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.
• Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.
• Ensure raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.
• Qualify new products and evaluate cost-effective raw materials and material alternatives.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product-related issues and implement appropriate solutions.

About The Role

Location: Calumpit, Bulacan

Reporting to: QMS and Quality Manager
Work Schedule: 5-day work week

The PVC Chemist (R&D) will ensure product quality and develop new formulations for PVC products and other materials. He/she will be responsible for conducting comparative product studies, testing and optimizing product formulations, and qualifying new products and materials.

Other responsibilities include:

• Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.
• Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.
• Ensure that raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.
• Qualify new products and evaluate cost-effective raw materials and material alternatives.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product-related issues and implement appropriate solutions.

To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or similar
• PRC license is a plus
• Good project management and problem solving skills
• Knowledge in the extrusion process is an advantage
