Job summary

HMI Enterprises is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective purchasing.

The role requires a degree in business or engineering and 5–7 years of purchasing experience, plus 1–2 years of supervisory work; strong knowledge of supplier sourcing, cost analysis, and PO processes essential.

• Ensure POs are accurate, properly approved, and issued within established turnaround times.
• Maintain an active pool of qualified and reliable suppliers.
• Minimize project delays attributable to purchasing-related material shortages.
• Ensure all purchases comply with HMI purchasing policies, approval limits, documentation requirements, and audit controls.
• Generate measurable savings through competitive sourcing, negotiation, volume purchasing, and supplier development.
• Submit accurate and timely purchasing reports to management.

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for supervising and controlling the day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities of HMI Enterprises to ensure the timely, cost-effective, compliant, and quality-assured acquisition of construction materials, equipment, supplies, tools, services, and other company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure approved materials, equipment, supplies, and services are purchased within the required project timeline

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Accounting, or related field

• At least 5–7 years of purchasing/procurement experience

• At least 1–2 years of supervisory or team-lead experience preferred

• Working knowledge of procurement and purchasing principles

• Working knowledge of construction materials and specifications

• Working knowledge of supplier sourcing and evaluation

• Working knowledge of price comparison and cost analysis

• Working knowledge of purchase requisition and purchase order processes

• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, real estate, infrastructure, or project-based operations strongly preferred

• Construction-related education or experience is an advantage
