Job summary

JMI Sand & Gravel is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee daily purchasing and procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, and services. This role focuses on timely sourcing, cost control, compliance, and quality assurance across project sites and supplier networks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within construction or related industries, plus 1–2 years of supervisory experience and willingness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration)
• 5–7 years of purchasing/procurement experience
• 1–2 years supervisory/lead experience preferred
• Experience in construction/engineering/manufacturing preferred
• Willingness to travel to project sites and supplier locations
• Willingness to work beyond regular hours when critical project requirements arise
• Confidential handling of supplier quotations, prices, contracts, and purchasing information
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Accounting, or related field

• At least 1-2 years of supervisory or team-lead experience preferred
• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, real estate, infrastructure, or project-based operations strongly preferred
• Willingness to travel to project sites and supplier locations
• Willingness to work beyond regular hours when critical project requirements arise
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of supplier quotations, negotiated prices, contracts, and company purchasing information
• Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment
