Job summary

Skye Food Corporation in Rosario, Cavite is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. You will source, negotiate, and procure fresh seafood products for our clients, while building strong vendor relationships and ensuring timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of purchasing experience in the food industry, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain or Procurement.
• Five+ years of proven purchasing experience in the food manufacturing or food industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and vendor relationship ability.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory management, and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders with accurate specifications, quantities and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs with relevant departments.
• Maintain detailed records of purchasing transactions, contracts, and supplier information.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and standards in procurement.
• Resolve purchase order discrepancies and address delivery issues promptly.

About the role

Skye Food Corporation is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Officer to join our organization on a full-time basis. Based in Rosario, Cavite, this role is central to our supply chain operations and directly impacts our ability to maintain efficient procurement processes and strong vendor relationships. As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring fresh seafood product for our client. This position offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the strategic objectives of the company whilst managing critical purchasing functions.

Key responsibilities

1. Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards

2. Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules

3. Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings whilst maintaining quality and service levels

4. Managing supplier relationships and conducting regular performance reviews

5. Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to forecast purchasing needs

6. Maintaining detailed records of purchasing transactions, contracts, and supplier information

7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards in all procurement activities

8. Resolving purchase order discrepancies and addressing delivery issues promptly

9. Liaising with finance, operations, and production teams to align purchasing strategies with business objectives

10. Analysing purchasing data and preparing reports on supplier performance and cost metrics

What We're Looking For

• College graduate, preferably with a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.

• More than 5 years of proven experience in purchasing or procurement within the food manufacturing or food industry.

• Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices, purchasing processes, inventory management, and supplier performance management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and experienced in using ERP or procurement systems.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple purchase orders, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Sound understanding of food manufacturing quality standards, regulatory compliance, and supplier quality requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.

• Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to evaluate purchasing trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Must be willing to work in the Cavite area; candidates residing in Cavite or nearby locations are highly preferred.
