The Project Engineer will oversee engineering, construction quality, scheduling, and technical compliance for resort infrastructure and facilities. This role serves as the key technical bridge between design teams, general contractors, architects, local authorities, and resort operations to ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to luxury hospitality standards.
Design & Drawing Reviews: Review structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), architectural, and civil drawings for constructability, compliance, and functionality.
Request for Information (RFI) Management: Coordinate with design consultants, architects, and contractors to clarify technical queries and resolve site design conflicts promptly.
Submittal & Shop Drawing Approval: Review product submittals, materials, shop drawings, and mock-ups for compliance with project specifications.
Site Supervision: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction matches approved engineering plans, building codes, and hospitality finishing standards.
Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Implement quality control procedures for critical resort infrastructure, including foundations, guest room soundproofing, waterproofing, and MEP systems.
Defect Tracking & Punch Lists: Lead mock-up room reviews, identify quality defects, track contractor remediation, and conduct final snagging before handover.
Specialized Utilities Management: Oversee technical installation and testing of specialized resort infrastructure:
Water supply, desalination/water treatment, and sewage treatment plants (STPs).
Centralized HVAC, district cooling, or power generation systems.
Swimming pools, water features, landscaping irrigation, and beach protection works.
Operational Readiness & Commissioning: Coordinate testing and commissioning (T&C) of central systems alongside resort engineering and operations teams to guarantee seamless transition to guest operations.
Progress Tracking: Monitor contractor schedules, physical progress on-site, and critical path milestones to prevent delays.
Valuation & Payment Certificates: Assist in evaluating contractor progress claims, variation orders, and field change directives.
Material Logistics: Coordinate long-lead resort items (imported fixtures, specialized pool equipment, luxury finishes) to avoid site downtime.
Regulatory Approvals: Work with local authorities to secure required building permits, environmental clearances, and occupational safety certifications.
HSE Adherence: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across all contractors on the construction site.
