Job summary

Okada Manila seeks a Project/Site/Construction Engineer to oversee the hotel’s engineering and maintenance operations, including the property, restaurants, and grounds.

You will respond to maintenance concerns, monitor and execute PM projects, and ensure safety compliance and proper hotel procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Architecture; licensed in the discipline; master’s degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years of project/site/construction engineering experience with supervisory roles in hotels, casinos, or resorts.
• Excellent technical knowledge of hotel operations and construction tasks; strong coaching, supervision, staffing, and management skills.

Job description

I. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Planning / Project Control / Reports / Opearations / Personnel:

• Responsible for engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, restaurant and grounds.

• Responds to engineering and maintenance concerns

• Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventive maintenance projects

• Responds to all building related safety concerns

• Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures.

• Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklist

• Assists in the supervision of temporary maintenance associates

• Assists management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations

• Deals with guest related concerns

• Maintains the guest room, public space, and back of the hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel

• Possesses knowledgeable of basic hand/power tool operation.

• Cleans and maintains pool and spa area

2. Operations

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

3. Personnel

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Supervises project staff. May delegate supervision for portion of work.

II. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Educational Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Architecture. Registered License Holder of this discipline, With Master's degree (advantage but not required).

• Experience Requirement:

  • 3 – 5 Years experience as a Project / Site / Construction Engineer, Hotel / Building Engineer or any Supervisory Experience in a Construction related company or Hotel, Casino & Resort experiences.

• Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent Technical knowledge in Hotel Operations and Construction related job and assignments, Including Coaching, Supervision, Staffing, Project, and Management Proficiency.

  • Excellent in oral and written communication skills, CAD Software skills, Engineering Drawings, Plans and MS Office Knowledge.
