Job summary

NAC Energy Inc. is seeking a Project Based Site Engineer to support the Site Manager in monitoring EPC contractor civil construction for a solar power plant in the Philippines.

You will verify conformance to drawings and specs, track progress, and escalate issues to maintain momentum; coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, and on-site teams to ensure safe, quality construction execution. The role involves daily inspections, review of shop drawings and material submittals, and preparation of site reports

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and monitor the EPC Contractor's civil construction activities (earthworks, foundations, piling, structural, and road works) to verify conformance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor and record the daily and weekly progress of assigned construction activities against the project schedule, reporting slippages, delays, and issues to the Site Manager for resolution.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for technical compliance prior to implementation.
• Coordinate with QA/QC team to witness inspections, testing, and quality checkpoints, ensuring non-conformances are documented and addressed.
• Support the enforcement of HSE protocols on site, reporting unsafe conditions or practices to the Site Manager and HSE team.
• Assist in monitoring and validating mobilization of manpower, equipment, and materials against contractual commitments.
• Prepare accurate daily/weekly site reports, photo documentation, and as-built records to support progress validation, quality records, and billing certification.
• Participate in site coordination and toolbox meetings, documenting action items and following up on closure.
• Assist in checking and validating quantity take-offs and supporting documents for progress billing.
• Perform other site engineering tasks as assigned by the Site Manager to ensure safe, quality progress.

About the role

The Project Based Site Engineer supports the Project Base Site Manager in the day-to-day monitoring, inspection, and documentation of the EPC Contractor's civil construction activities for the assigned Solar Power Plant project. The role verifies that the EPC Contractor's work conforms to approved engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards, tracks progress of assigned work areas against the project schedule, and helps identify and escalating issues that could affect construction momentum. The Site Engineer works closely with QA/QC, HSE, and other site teams to support safe, quality-compliant, and well-coordinated construction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and monitor the EPC Contractor's civil construction activities (e.g., earthworks, foundations, piling, structural, and road works) to verify conformance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor and record the daily and weekly progress of assigned construction activities against the project schedule, promptly reporting slippages, delays, and issues to the Site Manager for immediate resolution.
• Assist in reviewing the EPC Contractor's shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for technical compliance prior to implementation.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team to witness inspections, testing, and quality checkpoints (e.g., concrete pouring, compaction and material testing, welding and structural inspections), ensuring non-conformances are documented and promptly addressed.
• Support the enforcement of HSE protocols on site, promptly reporting unsafe conditions or practices observed to the Site Manager and HSE team.
• Assist in monitoring and validating the EPC Contractor's mobilization of manpower, equipment, and materials against contractual commitments for assigned work areas.
• Prepare accurate daily/weekly site reports, photo documentation, and as-built records to support progress validation, quality records, and billing certification.
• Participate in site coordination and toolbox meetings, documenting action items and following up on their timely closure.
• Assist in checking and validating the EPC Contractor's quantity take-offs and supporting documents for progress billing.
• Perform other site engineering tasks and support as assigned by the Site Manager to help ensure continuous, safe, and quality-compliant construction progress.
