Job summary

EssilorLuxottica Philippines is seeking a Production Shift Leader to supervise production operators, ensuring daily targets are met and coordinating with the Production Supervisor to maintain smooth operations.

The successful candidate will oversee material availability, ensure quality and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement. Strong English communication and basic MS Office skills are required for reporting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with ISO/EHS standards is a plus.
• Proficient in English, written and spoken.

• Ensure availability of raw materials, monomer, and production inputs.
• Monitor material usage and machine utilization to drive efficiency.

Your role

We are looking forProduction Shift Leader who will be responsible for direct supervision of production operators to ensure that production line meets the day-to-day requirement by checking manpower resources, production program, materials availability in the workshop and ensuring production meets the organization's target goals. Communicates to Autonomous Production Unit for any issues affecting the line as well as the well-being of operators, including safety and efficient working environment.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of theProduction Supervisor.

Main Responsibilities:

• Oversees daily shift operations and ensure achievement of production, quality, productivity, manpower, cost, and safety KPIs.
• Ensures the timely availability of quality raw materials, monomer, and other production requirements.
• Monitors material usage, waste generation, manpower allocation, attendance, and machine utilization to support operational efficiency.
• Ensures products, materials, and processes meet quality standards and critical specifications.
• Conducts process audits, monitor deviations, and implement corrective and preventive actions in compliance with ISO, EHS, and company requirements.
• Validates new materials, chemical batches, formulations, and process changes prior to production implementation.
• Leads investigations of quality and process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies and provide analysis-based recommendations.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives, monitor results, and promote operator involvement in improvement activities.
• Supervises, coaches, evaluates, and develops operators to enhance performance and skills.
• Fosters a positive work environment through effective communication, employee engagement, recognition, and corrective coaching when needed.
• Leads shift meetings, cascade information, coordinate with support departments, and escalation critical issues as appropriate.

A Portrait of a Suitable Candidate

• Graduate of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Industrial Chemistry or any related field
• At least One year of experience in a manufacturing company
• Must be able to work on a shifting schedule and render overtime when needed
• Experience in Thermoset plastic processes is an advantage
• Basic analytical skills (KPI measurement and analysis)
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and statistical analysis software
• Good command of spoken and written English; experience in creating technical reports
• Knowledge in QC tools and problem-solving techniques is an advantage
• Has a background in technical, process, and equipment troubleshooting
