Job summary

EssilorLuxottica Biñan, Philippines, is looking for a Maintenance Equipment Engineering Section Head to lead the equipment and controls teams, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance across manufacturing lines.

You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, oversee new installations, and push digitalization, IoT, and data-driven reliability initiatives, while coordinating with production, quality, and planning to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in equipment engineering or maintenance within manufacturing.
• Experience leading technical teams of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Strong background in preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
• Involvement in equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification projects.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and high-precision production environments.
• Practical use of CMMS for tracking maintenance and equipment data.
• Experience working cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering departments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and maintenance protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Equipment Team - Supervise and develop equipment supervisors, technicians, and controls team to ensure effective maintenance and support operations.
• Ensure Equipment Availability and Reliability - Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime.
• Support Manufacturing Operations - Coordinate with production, quality, and planning to align maintenance with schedules and quality goals.
• Drive Continuous Improvement - Lead projects to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage New Equipment Installations and Upgrades - Oversee planning, commissioning, and qualification of new machines.
• Ensure Compliance with Safety and Quality Standards - Enforce safety protocols and regulatory standards during maintenance.
• Monitor Performance and Reporting - Track equipment KPIs and report trends to management.
• Budget and Spare Parts Management - Manage maintenance budget and vendor relationships.
• Support Digitalization and Automation Initiatives - Collaborate on IoT and data-driven reliability solutions.

Your Role

We are looking for a Maintenance Equipment Engineering Section Headwho will lead and manage the team to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of all manufacturing equipment used in production. The role provides technical oversight and leadership to equipment and controls teams, aligning maintenance and engineering services with production, quality, and process needs. Acts as liaison across departments to establish priorities, coordinate support, and drive continuous improvement. Promotes quality standards, oversee design documentation, and manage budgets while fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the Equipment Team - Supervise and develop equipment supervisors, technicians, and controls team to ensure effective maintenance and support operations.
• Ensure Equipment Availability and Reliability - Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and reduce production disruptions.
• Support Manufacturing Operations - Coordinate closely with production, quality, and planning teams to align equipment maintenance with production schedules and quality goals.
• Drive Continuous Improvement - Lead projects to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance practices
• Manage New Equipment Installations and Upgrades - Oversee planning, commissioning, and qualification of new machines and modifications to existing systems.
• Ensure Compliance with Safety and Quality Standards - Enforce adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and internal SOPs during all maintenance activities.
• Monitor Performance and Reporting - Track key equipment KPIs and report performance trends to management.
• Budget and Spare Parts Management - Manage maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Support Digitalization and Automation Initiatives - Collaborate with automation and controls teams to implement smart maintenance, IoT, and data‑driven reliability solutions.
• Develop Team Capability - Identify skill gaps and lead training initiatives to enhance the technical and leadership capabilities of the equipment team.

Main requirements

• 10+ years of experience in equipment engineering or maintenance within manufacturing plant, optical lens manufacturing or related field
• Proven experience in leading and supervising technical teams (engineers, supervisors, technicians).
• Strong background in preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
• Involvement in equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification projects.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and production environments requiring high precision.
• Practical use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking maintenance and equipment data.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with production, quality, and engineering departments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and maintenance protocols and industrial compliance standards.
