Job summary

OPTODEV, Inc. is seeking a Production Shift Leader to supervise production operators, ensuring daily targets are met and coordinating with the Production Supervisor. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will monitor materials, equipment utilization, and KPI metrics while leading continuous improvement initiatives and coaching operators to enhance performance and skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in chemical engineering, chemical technology, industrial chemistry or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing company.
• Willing to work on shifting schedule and overtime.
• Experience in thermoset plastic processes is an advantage.
• Good English communications; ability to prepare technical reports.
• Knowledge of QC tools and problem-solving techniques is a plus.
• Background in technical/process/equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations and achieve KPIs for production, quality, productivity, manpower, cost, and safety.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, monomer, and other production requirements.
• Monitor material usage, waste, manpower, attendance, and machine utilization.
• Ensure products and processes meet quality standards and specs.
• Conduct process audits, monitor deviations, implement CAPAs per ISO, EHS, and company rules.
• Validate new materials, chemical batches, formulations, and process changes.
• Lead investigations of quality and process issues with structured problem-solving.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote operator involvement.
• Supervise, coach, evaluate and develop operators.
• Foster positive work environment through communication and engagement.
• Lead shift meetings, cascade information, coordinate with support departments, escalate issues.
