Job summary

CPS Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced Product Manager (Independent Contractor) to lead end-to-end development and growth of software products, from identifying customer needs to working with engineering and design through development, launch, and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes online retail/eCommerce exposure, strong SDLC/Agile background, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable product strategy while collaborating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience.
  • Candidates from related disciplines may be considered if they have hands-on experience with software products.
  • Experience in online retail or eCommerce is highly preferred.

  • Define product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, business, marketing, and operations to develop effective product solutions.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring high-impact features are delivered.
  • Lead product discovery sessions and translate business/user requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Engage with development teams on system architecture, technical design, deployment, monitoring, and performance.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager ( Independent Contractor for 6 moths)to lead the end-to-end development and growth of software products-from identifying customer needs and defining product strategy to working closely with engineering and design teams through development, launch, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in software product development, with at least 5 years of Product Management experience. Candidates from related disciplines such as Project Management, Software Development, QA, or UX/UI Design may also be considered, provided they have hands-on experience working with software products and projects.

Experience in online retail or eCommerce is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from gathering user feedback and identifying opportunities to discovery, development, launch, adoption, and iteration.

Define product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

Collaborate with engineering, design, business, commercial, marketing, and operations teams to develop effective product solutions.

Own and prioritize the product backlog, working closely with stakeholders to ensure high-impact features are delivered.

Lead product discovery sessions with engineering and design teams and translate business and user requirements into actionable solutions.

Work closely with development teams and participate in discussions involving system architecture, technical design, deployment, monitoring, performance, and stability.

Evaluate technical options and trade-offs and effectively communicate key technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Use data, analytics, customer feedback, and market insights to validate problems, opportunities, and product decisions.

Establish clear milestones, monitor progress, and drive fast execution through prioritization and iterative delivery.

Prepare and maintain internal and external product documentation and ensure alignment among stakeholders.

Collaborate with commercial, marketing, and operations teams to support successful product launches and adoption.

Establish and improve development, release engineering, and problem-management practices.

Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and high-quality execution.

Mentor and challenge team members to support their professional and technical growth.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management.

Candidates from Project Management, Software Development, QA, UX/UI Design, or related disciplines may be considered if they have substantial experience working with software products and projects.

Proven track record of taking products from conception to delivery and continuous iteration.

At least 2 years of experience working on online retail/eCommerce-related projects is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Scrum/Agile methodologies.

Experience working closely with software engineering teams and understanding system architecture, technical design, deployment, monitoring, performance, and system stability.

Ability to understand and contribute to technical architecture decisions, including evaluating trade-offs and microservice-oriented systems.

Strong understanding of customer/user requirements and global eCommerce markets and competitive landscapes.

Excellent analytical, organizational, influencing, communication, and presentation skills.

Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
