Job summary

Avon Philippines is seeking a Product Development Scientist II to lead innovative beauty and personal care formulations from concept to launch. You will collaborate with Marketing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to translate consumer insights into high-quality products delivered on schedule.

The role requires a degree in Chemistry or Cosmetic Science and 3–5 years of cosmetics product development experience, including emulsions, surfactants, fragrances, colors, and aerosols.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in cosmetics product development (emulsions, surfactants, fragrances, colors, aerosols).
• Experience in beauty/personal care or FMCG is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize formulations across Avon’s product categories.
• Support end-to-end product development from concept to commercialization.
• Conduct laboratory testing, stability studies, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams.
• Troubleshoot formulation or process issues and propose solutions.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Document technical data, reports, and development progress.

What you’ll be doing:

The Product Development Scientist II play a key role in bringing innovative beauty and personal care products to life, supporting projects from concept through to launch. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will help translate consumer insights into impactful formulations, ensuring products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards. You will independently manage development activities, contribute technical expertise, and help solve formulation challenges while maintaining timelines. Your work will directly support Avon’s commitment to delivering high‑quality, consumer‑loved products.

Key responsibilities:

• Developing and optimizing formulations across Avon’s product categories
• Supporting end‑to‑end product development from concept to commercialization

What we’re looking for

• A degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Product Development for cosmetics (emulsions, surfactants, fragrances, colors, aerosols, etc.)
• Proven experience in product development, ideally within beauty, personal care, or FMCG
• Strong understanding of formulation principles and laboratory practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail and a focus on quality
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams is an advantage
