Job summary

Glades International Corporation seeks a Purchasing Specialist Packaging to source and secure packaging materials for production, ensuring timely availability and quality. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and monitor costs to support manufacturing efficiency.

The role requires a degree in a related field and 1 year of purchasing experience, preferably in packaging or FMCG, with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferably 1 year of purchasing/procurement experience, particularly in packaging, manufacturing, FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
• Experience in sourcing packaging materials and managing packaging suppliers is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and supplier-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to work with cross-functional teams and meet operational deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Source packaging materials based on approved specifications, forecasts, and production requirements.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, purchase orders, and other purchasing documents.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on price, quality, lead time, capacity, and commercial terms.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, and other commercial conditions.
• Identify alternative suppliers and packaging sources to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness.
• Monitor market trends and packaging-material costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with packaging suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
• Monitor packaging-material inventory levels and coordinate replenishment based on demand and production requirements.
• Analyze packaging costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

About the role
