Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Procurement team at MBPS. The role supports Manulife’s procurement process and digitization efforts, overseeing day-to-day operations, and end-to-end procurement performance across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• College/University graduate.
• 2-3 years of experience with procurement, procure to pay or buyer role.
• Experience with procurement contracts is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Applications.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.
• Amenable to work onsite and from home as needed.
• Amenable to night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement process in a timely and efficient manner.
• Review requisitions per country/location and relevant fields.
• Edit purchase requisition fields to align with business rules.
• Initiate change orders as needed with visibility to requester and supplier.
• Cancel or close POs when appropriate after receipt and invoicing.
• Review and clear anomalies per location before PO transmission to supplier.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders in North America and Asia.
• Support COE in projects like data clean-up and data integrity management.
• Provide input into system and process documentation and training.
• Monitor shared mailbox and incident management tool to resolve business requirements.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings to resolve data quality issues.
• Perform other procurement duties as assigned.

Job description

We’re looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to support Manulife’s Procurement process and procurement systems as part of the digitization program and process improvement of Manulife Global Procurement. This role will also be responsible in delivering business requirements through oversight of day-to-day operations and efficient performance of the end-to-end procurement process.

Key Responsibilities

• Support operational business requirements related to the end-to-end procurement process timely and efficiently.
• Review daily list of requisitions per assigned country or location and relevant fields as appropriate.
• Edit specific fields in the purchase requisition to align to business rules and terms per location.
• Initiates change order request as needed with visibility with the requester and supplier.
• Cancel POs as may be required or close it when it needs to be archived after the PO is fully received and invoiced.
• Review and clear anomalies per location before transmission of the PO out to the supplier contact.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for review and/or submission to the business and to key stakeholders, both in North America and Asia,
• Support Procurement COE in completing projects to uphold business initiatives which may include data clean-up or management of data integrity.
• Provide input into system and procedural documentation and training.
• Support the business through regular and daily monitoring of the Shared Mailbox and established incident management tool to respond timely and resolve business requirements.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings and discussions to resolve data-related issues and drive consensus on data quality improvements.
• Perform other procurement duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• College/University graduate
• Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)
• With 2-3 years of experience with procurement, procure to pay or buyer role.
• Experience working with procurement contracts and related legal document is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Applications.
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work effectively in a changing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Attention to details and accuracy are critical in completing tasks.
• Effective coping skills and an outward positive attitude toward work and change.
• Amenable to work on a night shift schedule.
