Job Summary
The Procurement Head is responsible for overseeing the company's procurement and purchasing operations to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials, products, and services at the most competitive cost. This role leads procurement planning, supplier management, purchasing, inventory coordination, importation, and contract administration while ensuring compliance with company policies. The Procurement Head also supervises the procurement team, develops strong supplier relationships, implements cost-saving initiatives, and collaborates with other departments to support efficient business operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily procurement and purchasing operations.
- Prepare and monitor the Material Requirements Plan and ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Review Sales Orders, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and supplier quotations.
- Source, evaluate, accredit, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price, quality, and delivery terms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate with Warehouse, Sales, Production, and other departments.
- Oversee importation activities, including landed cost preparation and coordination with suppliers and brokers.
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve issues related to delays, shortages, defective items, and supplier concerns.
- Monitor supplier performance, contracts, and purchasing costs while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare purchasing and supplier performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and continuously improve procurement processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge of procurement, inventory management, supplier management, and importation processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP or purchasing systems.
