Job Summary
The Procurement and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for company operations and project implementation. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery of materials, and efficient coordination of logistics to support project schedules and operational needs.
1. Procurement Management
- Plan, organize, and supervise procurement activities to ensure timely acquisition of materials and supplies.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Request quotations, conduct price comparisons, and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
2. Vendor and Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with reliable suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery time, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain and update the supplier database and accreditation records.
3. Logistics Coordination
- Supervise the transportation and delivery of materials to project sites.
- Coordinate with warehouse, drivers, and project teams for timely dispatch and delivery.
- Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delivery issues.
4. Inventory and Materials Monitoring
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to monitor stock levels and material availability.
- Ensure proper documentation and recording of materials received and distributed.
- Help prevent shortages, overstocking, or loss of materials.
5. Cost Control and Budget Monitoring
- Ensure procurement activities are within the approved budget.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Monitor and report procurement expenses.
6. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, delivery receipts, invoices, and contracts.
- Prepare procurement and logistics reports for management review.
- Ensure all transactions are properly documented and filed.
7. Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure materials and supplies meet required specifications and standards.
- Verify that purchased items comply with project requirements and company standards.
8. Team Supervision
- Supervise procurement and logistics staff.
- Assign tasks and monitor staff performance.
- Provide guidance and training when necessary.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- At least 3–5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Experience in construction procurement is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Good organizational and planning abilities
- Knowledge of procurement processes and logistics coordination
- Proficiency in MS Office and inventory systems
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
