About the role
The Homecare and Personal Care Process Control Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and controlling production processes used in the manufacture of homecare and personal care products. The operator ensures that production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to approved procedures, quality standards, production schedules, and product specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and monitor process control systems, production equipment, and machinery used in the manufacture of homecare and personal care products.
- Monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, mixing speed, levels, pH, and other critical operating conditions.
- Follow approved batch procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and production schedules.
- Accurately measure, handle, and add raw materials according to approved formulations and batch instructions.
- Monitor mixing, blending, heating, cooling, filling, and other manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality.
- Conduct routine checks and record process readings, production data, and batch information accurately.
- Identify process abnormalities, equipment malfunctions, or deviations and take appropriate corrective action within authorized limits.
- Escalate significant process deviations, equipment issues, safety concerns, and quality problems to the Production Supervisor or relevant department.
- Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, changeover, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting activities according to established procedures.
- Work closely with Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse, Engineering, and Production teams to maintain smooth manufacturing operations.
About you
- High school diploma, technical/vocational qualification, or equivalent; a degree or technical qualification in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Process Technology, Chemistry, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in process operations, chemical manufacturing, FMCG, homecare, personal care, cosmetics, or a related manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of process control systems, production equipment, and industrial manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of chemical handling, workplace safety, and good manufacturing practices (GMP) is an advantage.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use production monitoring or control systems.
- Good mathematical and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and follow rotating shift schedules.
