• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related engineering.
• Senior/Principal level experience in transmission line engineering.
• Extensive experience in transmission line design, structures, foundations, conductor systems, and line components.
• Advanced proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex transmission projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsabilidades

• Direct key analyses such as sag & tension, clearance assessments, line optimization, and complex loading studies.
• Provide technical oversight and approval of designs, specs, and reports.
• Utilize PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER to develop and review designs.
• Lead contractor and consultant reviews, including schedules and deliverables.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and resources.

We are currently looking for a Principal Transmission Line Engineer to lead the delivery of overhead transmission line projects and provide technical leadership across complex programs. The role is expected to be a trusted advisor to clients, driving technical excellence, supporting business growth, and ensuring successful project delivery. You will also mentor and develop engineers while helping grow Jacobs' technical capability and market presence within your area of specialty.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the design of overhead transmission lines, including steel lattice towers, tubular pole structures, foundations, and associated line components.
• Directing key engineering analyses such as sag & tension calculations, conductor clearance assessments, line optimization studies, and complex loading assessments.
• Providing technical oversight and approval of designs, technical specifications, engineering reports, and project documentation.
• Utilizing and overseeing the application of tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER to develop and review transmission line designs.
• Leading contractor and consultant reviews, including technical deliverables, design documentation, and implementation schedules.
• Managing project scope, budgets, schedules, technical risks, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
• Supporting and leading business development activities, proposal preparation, cost estimation, and strategic pursuits.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while serving as a trusted technical advisor.
• Leading site inspections, construction monitoring, commissioning support, and resolution of complex field issues.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across regions to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
• Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and designers.
• Driving continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, quality assurance, and technical innovation initiatives.
• Supporting strategic growth of Jacobs' transmission and distribution business through market engagement and industry leadership.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in a Senior or Principal level within transmission line engineering and project delivery.
• Extensive experience in transmission line engineering, including transmission line design, structures, foundations, conductor systems, and line components.
• Advanced proficiency with industry tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER.
• Strong expertise in sag & tension analysis, conductor clearance assessments, structure loading, and transmission line design.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex transmission projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and client interactions.
• Proven ability to manage project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Experience supporting proposals, business development, and client account growth.
• Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to the development of technical capability within the organization.
