Job summary

Ingram Micro seeks a Principal Technical Support Engineer to act as a senior escalation authority across Support, Engineering, Product, Cloud Operations, SRE, and partner teams. You will lead complex investigations, set diagnostic standards, and drive durable platform improvements while mentoring engineers.

You will champion observability and automation, translate customer impact into actionable recommendations, and guide incident response to reduce recurring failures across multiple platforms

Qualifications

• 10+ years across technical support, software, cloud ops, SRE, or equivalent.
• Diagnose complex distributed, cloud, SaaS, API, or infra issues.
• Lead cross-functional investigations and influence permanent fixes.
• Strong understanding of observability, incident and problem management.
• Design automation and AI-assisted support capabilities.
• Influence technical decisions without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication translating risk to business impact.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise technical capability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal escalation point for complex cross-platform issues.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for major outages.
• Define diagnostic standards and reusable runbooks.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, SRE, and Cloud Ops to improve reliability and observability.
• Translate patterns into technical recommendations and permanent actions.
• Identify recurring demand for product fixes or automation.
• Design AI-assisted troubleshooting workflows with human oversight.
• Establish monitoring and alerting requirements for proactive detection.
• Provide technical leadership during major incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Lead multi-team technical initiatives across domains.
• Mentor Senior/Lead engineers and develop learning paths.
