Job summary

RED Engineering Design seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer to support the Team Leader in managing electrical engineering operations. The role involves planning and coordinating project work, applying high-level technical expertise to major design activities, and guiding local project teams to deliver outputs on schedule.

The candidate should possess a valid electrical engineering license, 10+ years in engineering design, and strong CAD proficiency, with a track record in mentoring and leading

Qualifications

• Licensed Electrical Engineer with valid certification.
• At least 10 years of experience in engineering design.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design for building projects.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Proficient CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader by planning and coordinating engineering project work and design activities to meet deadlines.
• Provide high level technical expertise in applying engineering principles to planning and design of major projects.
• Lead the coordination of engineering services on projects in the local office.
• Review drawings to ensure quality of output.
• Input into work plans and CAD resource allocation for each project phase.
• Outline work plans with the project team and assign duties and scope of design.
• Provide technical advice to ensure projects progress on schedule and meet requirements.
• Develop and manage electrical engineer training program and evaluate personnel performance.

Job description

Assist the Team Leader in managing electrical engineering operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for planning and coordinating engineering project work and design activities to ensure that project goals/objectives are accomplished within agreed deadline.
• Provide high level of technical expertise when applying engineering principles, techniques and methods to the planning and design of major projects.
• Leads the coordination of engineering services on projects undertaken within the local office.
• Reviewing and checking of drawings to ensure quality of output.
• Assists Discipline Team Leader by inputting into the establishment of work plan and Engineering/CAD resource for each phase of the project.
• Confers with Red project team to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of project design.
• Provides technical advice to local team personnel to ensure a project’s progress on schedule and meet Red project brief requirements.
• Develop and manage electrical engineer training program, review and evaluate personnel performance.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

• Provide mentoring to Graduate/Junior Engineers.
• Inputs into the technical recruitment of engineering staff
• Review and approve leave application of staff

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed Electrical Engineer
• A minimum of 10 years of work experience in engineering design industry.
