Job summary

Jacobs Projects (Philippines), INC. is seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrical & Controls to lead the design and delivery of EICA systems on complex projects. You will act as the technical authority and guide multidisciplinary teams across the project lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, support procurement, construction and commissioning, and contribute to proposals with innovative solutions. This leadership role emphasizes safety, standards compliance, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience as Senior, Lead or Principal Engineer in Electrical and Controls design.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution (MV/LV), instrumentation, PLC/DCS/SCADA, protection studies, and industrial automation.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit.

Responsibilities

In this leadership role, you'll provide technical expertise and guidance on complex electrical and controls engineering projects, working alongside global multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) systems across complex projects.
• Act as the technical authority for electrical and controls engineering, providing guidance and oversight to project teams.
• Develop and review key engineering deliverables, including power distribution systems, protection studies, instrumentation designs, and PLC/SCADA/DCS architectures.
• Ensure designs comply with client requirements, industry standards, quality expectations, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and global teams to achieve project objectives, schedules, and budget targets.
• Support technical reviews, risk assessments, value engineering studies, and design optimization initiatives.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Mentor and develop engineers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing across the business.
• Contribute to proposals, bids, and client engagements through technical leadership and innovative solutions.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in Electrical and Controls engineering design as a Senior, Lead or Principal Engineer.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Electrical power distribution systems (MV/LV)
  • Instrumentation and control systems
  • PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms
  • Protection and coordination studies
  • Industrial automation systems
  • Experience with engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Revit.
