Job Summary

The Pricing Strategy Manager is responsible for leading the company's procurement pricing strategy by sourcing competitive logistics solutions, managing carrier and vendor relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and developing pricing models that maximize profitability and business growth. The role ensures that procurement activities, vendor performance, and pricing strategies support the organization's operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while maintaining a competitive position in the logistics and freight forwarding market.

Duties & Responsibilities
Procurement Management
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for freight, transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage, and other logistics services.
  • Source, evaluate, and accredit local and international logistics vendors, carriers, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and warehouse providers.
  • Lead procurement negotiations to secure competitive rates, service levels, and commercial terms.
  • Establish long‑term supplier agreements that improve cost efficiency and service reliability.
  • Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Vendor Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic logistics partners and service providers.
  • Conduct periodic vendor performance evaluations based on cost, service quality, responsiveness, reliability, and compliance with agreed service levels.
  • Develop vendor scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective action plans where necessary.
  • Identify and qualify alternative vendors to mitigate operational risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Lead regular business reviews with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Pricing Strategy
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with market conditions, operational costs, and business objectives.
  • Analyze carrier rates, fuel surcharges, exchange rates, seasonal trends, and market demand to determine competitive pricing.
  • Review and approve pricing proposals for customer quotations, bids, and Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
  • Ensure pricing structures achieve target profit margins while remaining competitive.
  • Recommend pricing adjustments based on cost fluctuations and market intelligence.
  • Support the Sales Team with strategic pricing during major tenders and contract negotiations.
Commercial & Financial Analysis
  • Analyze procurement spend, pricing trends, vendor performance, and gross profit margins.
  • Prepare pricing models, cost analyses, and profitability reports for management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins through strategic sourcing and pricing optimization.
  • Monitor market developments and competitor pricing to support informed business decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure procurement and pricing decisions support operational requirements and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with overseas agents and global partners to secure competitive international freight rates.
  • Support business development initiatives by providing commercially viable pricing solutions.
Process Improvement
  • Develop standardized procurement and pricing procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate vendor database and rate management system.
  • Improve procurement and quotation turnaround times through process optimization and technology.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Customs Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, pricing, or commercial management within the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven experience negotiating with shipping lines, airlines, trucking providers, warehouse operators, customs brokers, and other logistics vendors.
