Job summary

KDCI Outsourcing seeks an experienced Power Systems Engineer to deliver technical and consulting support for electrical engineering projects across generation, HV transmission, distribution, and grid connections. You will perform power system studies using PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Hypersim and ensure designs meet Australian standards and client specifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical engineering industry.
Hands-on experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Hypersim in RMS and EMT modelling environments.
Familiarity with engineering codes, regulations, and performance standards.
Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and client specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform and direct power system studies using PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Hypersim modelling environments.
Manage the enquiry, application, registration, and/or design phases for large energy user and renewable energy projects, including HV grid connections, substation design, and generating plant power systems.
Undertake site inspections, provide technical advice, and prepare engineering reports.
Assist with planning and scheduling tasks and activities within the Electrical Engineering Team.
Develop cost-effective engineering solutions that meet project and technical requirements.
Provide engineering and technical advice to the engineering team and other project personnel involved in the execution of works.
Review designs to ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
Apply Quality Management System (QMS) requirements to work processes and identify and report opportunities for improvement.
Undertake billable consulting work within Electrical Engineering, including projects involving generation, HV transmission, and distribution.
Support management in developing team capabilities across owner- and developer-side work for generation, HV transmission, and distribution projects.
Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture and provide guidance to junior engineers, drafters, and technical personnel.
