We are seeking a skilled Power Systems Engineer to support electrical engineering projects across generation, high-voltage transmission, distribution, and renewable energy systems. The role will involve delivering technical solutions, conducting power system studies, supporting grid connection projects, and ensuring designs comply with Australian standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform power system studies and modelling using tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Hypersim.
- Support HV grid connection, substation design, generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
- Develop technical solutions, engineering designs, reports, and project documentation.
- Conduct site inspections, provide technical advice, and support project delivery activities.
- Review designs to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost-effective engineering solutions, and technical coordination.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, quality processes, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within power systems, renewable energy, transmission, or distribution projects.
- Strong experience with power system analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and/or Hypersim.
- Understanding of electrical engineering standards, regulations, and design practices.
- Experience with HV systems, grid connections, substations, and generation projects is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple engineering tasks within deadlines.
