Job summary

Motional is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Engineering Enablement team, building and evolving internal platforms, services, and toolchains that power engineering workflows across the company. You will partner with teams to identify bottlenecks, design scalable, self-service developer platforms, and streamline CI/CD to help teams move from code to production quickly and confidently.

Your focus will be on the internal developer platform and productivity tooling, enabling engineers to ship

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and work experience.
2+ years in Software Engineering or related roles.
Strong background in Python, Go, C++.
Experience with Unix-like environments, software, and toolchains.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) & infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Expertise in software development lifecycle and translating goals into software requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Build scalable backend services, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, toolchains and platforms that can support developer workflows.
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand needs and drive improvements in development workflows.
Improve system reliability, performance, scalability, and observability across distributed systems.
Monitor system performance and health, proactively identifying issues before users are impacted.
Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.
