Job summary

Motional is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (SRE Focus) to join the Engineering Enablement team. You will build and evolve internal platforms, services, and toolchains that power engineering workflows across Motional.

Your work will improve reliability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure while partnering with teams to deliver high-quality services to internal customers. You will focus on internal developer platforms and productivity tooling to help engineers ship reliable code

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and work experience.
7+ years in SRE/DevOps-related roles.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infra-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong programming background in Python, Go, or C++ and SDLC understanding.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Build scalable backend services, CI/CD pipelines, build systems and toolchains to support developer workflows.
Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and observability across distributed systems.
Analyze and optimize AWS spend with cost-saving strategies in cloud infrastructure.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues before impact.
Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.
