Job summary

Aussie Broadband is seeking a seasoned Platform Engineer to maintain the security, reliability, and availability of its critical systems. You will design scalable platform architectures, enable on-premises and cloud workloads, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.

You will champion IaC and CI/CD, support development teams with tooling, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform resilience and performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the security, reliability, and availability of Aussie Broadband’s critical systems infrastructure.
• Design and evolve platform architecture to deliver scalable, observable and secure solutions for internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across a broad range of experience and skills to deliver business outcomes.
• Deliver highly available, scalable and resilient platforms and services to support business growth and initiatives.
• Build, automate and enhance on-premises containerised & virtualised workloads, with a strong focus on infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Support development teams by providing platform capabilities, tooling and environments that accelerate delivery.
• Champion reliability practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response and post incident reviews.
• Continuously improve platform performance, cost-efficiency and developer experience through proactive engineering and feedback loops.
• Contribute to technical documentation, standards and knowledge sharing across the engineering organisation.
• Act as an escalation point and provide technical guidance and support to other members of the systems team, helping resolve complex issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and help develop junior team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical training.

• Take ownership of delivering assigned projects and business outcomes end-to-end, applying established architectural and design patterns with minimal oversight.
