Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Platform Development team. You will design, build, and run the internal platform that product engineering teams depend on: secure, self-service Azure infrastructure delivered through GitOps and infrastructure as code, engineered for a 99.99% uptime target.

This is a hands-on role with 4-6 years of experience expected. You will automate toil, shorten the path from commit to production, and improve cost efficiency while ensuring

Qualifications

• 4-6 years hands-on experience in platform engineering, infra, or related discipline.
• Experience building and operating an internal developer platform as a product.
• Proficient with GitOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads on Azure.
• Strong focus on uptime, SLOs, and cost optimisation in cloud environments.
• Ability to operate across multiple teams and drive incident response and blameless post-incident reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the internal developer platform as a product with self-service capabilities.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
• Own platform stability and availability with a 99.99% uptime target.
• Drive cloud cost optimisation through rightsizing, autoscaling, and reserved capacity.
• Run GitOps-based delivery on Kubernetes with FluxCD and create reliable pipelines.
• Package workloads with Docker and Kubernetes across environments.
• Improve observability with metrics, logs, traces, and alerting for services.
• Embed non-functional requirements like security and performance into platform design by default.
