The Plant Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing HR operations at the plant level, ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical function in executing HR strategies, supporting talent management and development, employee engagement, labor relations, and workforce operations to align with business objectives.
The Plant HR Manager reports directly to the Corporate HR Lead and works closely with the Centers of Expertise (COEs) to implement corporate HR initiatives while ensuring responsiveness to plant-specific needs.
Facilitate the recruitment and selection process for non-leadership roles, including tender positions and entry-level factory roles.
Partner with the COE-Talent Acquisition team to ensure an efficient hiring process, proactive talent pipeline development, and alignment with workforce requirements.
Oversee new hire onboarding and integration to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
Collaborate with plant leadership to monitor workforce planning and staffing needs, ensuring operational efficiency.
Serve as the primary HR representative for labor relations, addressing employee concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution.
Ensure strict compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies across all plant operations.
Work closely with the COE-Labor Relations to develop labor relations strategies, including managing collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and maintaining strong relationships with union representatives.
Oversee and conduct disciplinary procedures, investigations, and policy enforcement, ensuring fair and legally compliant resolutions.
Design and implement employee engagement programs that enhance workplace culture, morale, and retention.
Organize employee relations programs, such as monthly thematic activities, sports festivals, seasonal celebrations, and other initiatives to boost morale.
Oversee the management and continuous improvement of employee facilities, including accommodations, transportation, cafeterias, and workplace welfare provisions.
Establish and maintain effective communication and feedback mechanisms to address workplace concerns proactively.
Collaborate with the COE-Learning & Development team to implement plant-specific training and development programs.
Facilitate compliance training, functional skills development, and leadership programs for plant employees.
Support career development initiatives and succession planning to build a strong internal talent pipeline.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, ensuring alignment with organizational competency frameworks.
Implement and manage performance management systems at the plant level, ensuring alignment with corporate HR policies.
Partner with COE-Organizational Development to drive performance appraisals, talent development, and capability-building initiatives.
Assist in job evaluations, role enhancements, and workforce restructuring initiatives to support operational efficiency.
Provide local HR support for timekeeping, attendance, leave management, and benefits administration, ensuring seamless coordination with Head Office Shared Services for timely resolution of employee concerns.
Manage the processing of employee clearances, final pay, and other personnel transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee and facilitate other employee-related transactions, including company-provided benefits, CBA-mandated benefits, and other entitlements.
Oversee third-party manpower providers, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and compliance with labor laws.
Work with COE-Third Party Management to evaluate service providers, ensuring cost-effective workforce solutions.
Coordinate with security services, health services, and other third-party HR-related functions to ensure smooth plant operations.
Foster positive relationships with local communities and government agencies to ensure compliance and alignment with corporate sustainability initiatives.
Represent the plant in labor-related government inspections, audits, and compliance assessments to uphold regulatory standards.
Lead and support corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in partnership with community stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s social impact.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Advanced certifications in HR Management, Labor Relations, or Organizational Development are an advantage.
Minimum of 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in an HR leadership role in a plant or manufacturing setting.
Strong background in employee relations, labor relations, talent management, and workforce administration.
Experience in managing collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and union negotiations is highly preferred.
Proven ability to implement HR policies, engagement programs, and compliance initiatives in an industrial or plant environment.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR compliance, and employment regulations.
Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and workforce analytics.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
Results-driven and proactive, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Adaptable to dynamic operational demands and changing business conditions.
Strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills to align HR initiatives with plant operations.
Expertise in HR operations, including talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, and employee engagement.
Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration, including CBA-mandated benefits and company-provided entitlements.
Familiarity with plant operations, safety regulations, and workforce optimization strategies.
