Job summary

The role requires an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, a current electrical license, and 3–5 years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience. You will read schematics, diagnose faults, and ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in electrical trades or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Current electrical license or certification as required by local regulations.
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in plant or industrial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, machinery, and industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Sound understanding of electrical safety standards and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Competence with electrical testing equipment, multimeters, and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of responding to emergency situations.
• Good communication skills and ability to document work accurately.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the plant facility.
• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical machinery and distribution systems.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
• Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Responding promptly to emergency electrical issues and providing urgent repairs when necessary.
• Testing electrical systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Collaborating with other maintenance team members to support facility operations.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Operating and maintaining electrical test equipment and hand tools.
