Job summary

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Perimeter Security Analyst to join the Information Security team in the Philippines. You will oversee daily administration and maintenance of perimeter security technologies and ensure protection of client data and networks.

You will collaborate with business and technology teams to implement controls, develop security policies, and conduct firewall governance, reviews, and HIPAA/NIST-aligned assessments to uphold industry standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in information security operations.
• Experience with infrastructure implementations, management, and operations.
• Experience dealing with external vendors in perimeter security.
• Firewall reviews and tuning.
• Knowledge of data security principles (classification, DLP, data in transit/rest).
• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (SSO, SAML, AD, LDAP).
• ITIL knowledge for Incident/Change/Knowledge management.
• Proficient with perimeter security tools (firewalls, VPN, DMZ, proxies, IDS/IPS).
• Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision on complex tasks.
• Strong analytical skills to investigate and remediate incidents.
• Strong writing skills for clear documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement information security policies, standards, and procedures to protect the client’s perimeter and information assets.
• Manage perimeter security solutions, including firewalls, VPN, DMZ, proxy services and remote access.
• Perform restorative and responsive actions through advanced technical skills, triage, and remediation of security incidents.
• Collaborate with business units to protect proprietary and personal data.
• Provide subject matter expertise and collaborate with IT security professionals.
• Ensure alignment of security policies with IT frameworks (ISO 2700x, NIST, ITIL).
• Anticipate customer needs and develop solutions.
• Lead as needed on complex issues or projects.
• Review work and recommend improvements; forecast resource needs.
• Identify risks and ensure compliance with standards.
