Job summary

Optum Philippines is hiring a Security Engineer, Email Security to lead enterprise email protection design, evaluation, and governance. You will implement scalable security architectures and collaborate on POV/POC initiatives to advance our global health technology infrastructure.

You will work with advanced protections, establish secure baselines, and help drive multi-year security roadmaps while leveraging AI tools to automate workflows. This role is onsite in Metro Manila with the Optum team.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise email security technologies.
• 3 years of experience with e-mail authentication protocols (DMARC, DKIM, SPF) and advanced e-mail protection capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent information security or software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise email security, designing, building, and maintaining scalable and resilient email security architectures and platform infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain enterprise engineering standards, secure configuration baselines, technical implementation standards, and architecture documentation.
• Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-value (POV), and proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives for emerging email security capabilities, vendor offerings, and innovative tools.
• Monitor and remediate configuration drift, conducting periodic reviews to ensure continuous alignment with security baselines and organizational governance.
• Administer, maintain, and operate Cyber Defense security tools.
• Evaluate emerging industry trends, threat patterns, and technology developments contributing to multi-year engineering roadmaps and strategic security initiatives.
• Use enterprise-approved AI tools and scripting frameworks to streamline engineering workflows, automate administrative functions, and drive continuous capability maturity.
