Job summary

Translarity, Inc. is seeking a PCB Designer to join the Philippines team, focusing on designs for PCBs, Organic Substrates (MLOs) and related products. You will work under the shift lead to ensure quality and timely delivery, collaborating across departments to avoid conflicts and meet customer specs.

The ideal candidate has a background in electrical and mechanical PCB design, with proficiency in Cadence Allegro, CAM350, AutoCAD, and scripting skills. Bachelor's in E.E.

Qualifications

• Understanding of electrical and mechanical aspects of PCB design with focus on manufacturability.
• Experience with Probe Card PCB design and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) design preferred but not required, or equivalent high-layer-count boards.

Responsibilities

• Design PCBs, MLOs and related items from scratch or using templates to meet specs.
• Coordinate handoffs across 3 shifts for smooth production flow.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure compatibility of sub-components.
• Generate accurate production files for fabrication and assembly.

What is a Probe Card?

A probe card is a critical component in semiconductor testing, acting as the interface between automated test equipment and the semiconductor wafer. These assemblies often include complex multi‑layer PCBs with tens of thousands of routed traces and thousands of discrete components, supporting mixed‑signal, high‑speed, RF, and power‑delivery paths. Precision and electrical integrity are essential for accurate wafer‑level testing.

Summary:

We are seeking PCB Designers to join our Phillippines team to work on the design of printed circuit boards (PCBs), Organic Substrates (MLOs) and other related products. This role requires an understanding of PCB design principles and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with our existing team members on designs under the supervision of the shift lead to ensure our commitment to quality and speedy delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design Projects: Work on designs for Probe Card components including both PCBs, MLOs and other similar items, both from scratch and using templates, ensuring designs meet customer specifications and industry standards.
• Intradepartment Collaboration: In order to improve cycle times Translarity uses a 3‑shift system requiring a clean handoff of design work between team members on different shifts.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Probe card design requires tight collaboration between team members in different departments to ensure that there are no conflicts between the different sub‑components and that the final product meets customer requirements
• Generate Production Files: Produce accurate PCB fabrication and assembly files upon design completion, ensuring seamless handoff to manufacturing.
• Library Management: Work with other tema mmebers to ensure that the PCB parts library is maintained, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with design requirements.
• Tool Proficiency: Stay up‑to‑date with advancements in design tools and software, leveraging new features and updates to improve design capabilities.
• Peer Review: Actively participate in peer cross‑checking and design reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: An understanding of electrical and mechanical aspects of PCB design, with a focus on high‑quality, manufacturable designs.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in design tools, including Cadence Allegro, CAM350, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Allegro SKILL scripting and/or Excel scripting is highly desirable.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present ideas clearly.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field, or equivalent technical training in PCB design.
• 1+ years of experience in PCB design
• Experience with Probe Card PCB design and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) design preferred but not required (equivalent experience with other large, high layer count boards would also be considered)
• Background in using Cadence design software is strongly preferred.
