Job summary

Apero Restaurant is seeking a Payroll Officer to manage payroll processing for employees across our operations in the Philippines. You will verify attendance, compute compensation, and coordinate with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting/Finance, 2–3 years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of local payroll laws with the ability to handle multiple schedules and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of Philippine payroll laws and government requirements.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with payroll systems/HRIS.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for employees across multiple industries, business units, and locations.
  • Review and validate attendance, timekeeping, overtime, leaves, undertime, holiday pay, and other inputs.
  • Calculate salaries, allowances, incentives, commissions, deductions, and other components.
  • Handle payroll for different employee classifications (regular, probationary, seasonal, project-based).
  • Process and monitor statutory deductions and contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
  • Prepare payroll reports, government remittances, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and department heads on movements and salary changes.
  • Manage payroll discrepancies and employee concerns with timely resolution.
  • Maintain confidential payroll records for multiple units and schedules.

About the role

The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate, timely, and confidential processing of payroll for employees across multiple industries and business units. This role handles different payroll requirements, compensation structures, employee classifications, and work arrangements while ensuring compliance with company policies and Philippine statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Process payroll for employees across multiple industries, business units, and locations.
  • Review and validate attendance, timekeeping, overtime, leaves, undertime, holiday pay, and other payroll inputs.
  • Calculate salaries, allowances, incentives, commissions, deductions, and other compensation components based on applicable policies.
  • Handle payroll requirements for different employee classifications, including regular, probationary, seasonal, and project-based employees.
  • Process and monitor statutory deductions and contributions such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR withholding tax.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of payroll reports, government remittances, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and department heads regarding employee movements, salary adjustments, new hires, resignations, and other payroll-related changes.
  • Manage payroll discrepancies and employee concerns, ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and updated payroll records for different business units and ensure strict confidentiality of employee information.
  • Prepare payroll summaries, reconciliation reports, and other management reports as required.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably handling multiple companies, business units, or industries.
  • Experience handling payroll with different compensation structures and employee classifications.
  • Knowledge of Philippine payroll laws, statutory deductions, and government requirements.
  • Familiarity with SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and preferably experienced with payroll systems or HRIS.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple payroll schedules and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
