Job summary

MicroSourcing in Libis, Quezon City is hiring a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing and maintain payroll records. The role requires strong knowledge of payroll laws and tax codes, plus experience with major payroll software and advanced Excel skills.

You will liaise with HR and IT to ensure system accuracy and timely reporting. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of payroll experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a payroll-focused role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Proficiency with mainstream payroll software (ADP, Workday, Paychex) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax codes, and statutory deductions.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing for regular payroll including salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Maintain and update payroll records: exemptions, insurance, savings, job titles, transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations; prepare payroll reports.
  • Serve as primary contact for employee inquiries on paychecks and payroll policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT to keep payroll software updated and integrated with timekeeping.
  • Calculate and process final pay, severance, and termination payouts.

Your Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will:

  • Payroll Processing: End-to-end processing of regular payroll (salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions) in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department transfers.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Prepare regular payroll reports for management and accounting reconciliation.
  • Query Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding paychecks, tax withholding, and payroll policies, resolving issues efficiently.
  • System Maintenance: Collaborate with HR and IT to ensure the payroll software/system is updated, accurate, and integrated properly with timekeeping systems.
  • Offboarding & Final Pay: Calculate and process final pay, severance, and termination payouts in compliance with legal standards.
What You Need - Non-negotiables
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Clerk, or in a similar payroll-focused role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a business-related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with mainstream payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex, or similar) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
  • Core Competencies: Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax codes, and statutory deduction regulations.
Preferred Skills / Expertise
  • AU Payroll Experience (Nice-to-have): Prior experience processing Australian payroll—including familiarity with Single Touch Payroll (STP), Superannuation, and Fair Work awards—is highly regarded but not required.
  • Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent payroll certification.
