JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of employee payroll, including salary computations, statutory contributions, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related adjustments. The role oversees timesheet management, payroll validation, employee loan deductions, and payroll reconciliation while ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and government requirements. The Payroll Specialist also coordinates with HR on employee data validation and HRIS-related payroll requirements while maintaining the confidentiality of payroll records.
Monitor and audit employee timesheets, attendance records, and leave transactions for accuracy and discrepancies.
Process regular and off-cycle payroll, including salaries, overtime, holiday pay, allowances, incentives, 13th-month pay, leave conversions, and other payroll adjustments.
Compute statutory contributions, withholding taxes, employee loans, and other authorized deductions, and ensure timely remittance to the respective government agencies.
Validate payroll-related employee information in coordination with HR to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Prepare payroll registers, timesheet reports, statutory reports, and supporting schedules for financial reporting and general ledger (GL) entries.
Reconcile payroll disbursements, deductions, and statutory contributions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Address employee payroll inquiries, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related concerns.
Prepare and maintain payroll documents for labor, tax, and government compliance, including employee tax records.
Coordinate with Finance on payroll reconciliations, accruals, & month-end closing requirements.
Safeguard confidential payroll records and ensure compliance with data privacy, internal controls, and company policies.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and processes.
Perform other payroll-related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in payroll processing and administration.
Strong knowledge of payroll computations, Philippine labor laws, taxation, and statutory government contributions.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, payroll reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Proficient in using HRIS or payroll systems (Jeonsoft, PPH)
Ability to handle confidential information and maintain data privacy.
Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
Open to an on-site work schedule in Mandaluyong City.
