Job summary

MicroSourcing in Pasay City, Philippines, is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Accountant for onsite night shift. You will post and reconcile payroll-related ledgers, manage benefit expenses, and ensure accurate monthly close schedules.

The role requires IFRS/GAAP knowledge and 4–6 years of payroll/accounting experience in a multi-currency setting. The successful candidate will collaborate with HR and AP teams, maintain internal controls, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4 to 6 years of general accounting or payroll accounting experience, preferably in a multi-regional/multi-currency environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (or GAAP) principles as they relate to compensation, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and retirement plans.
• Demonstrated ability to perform timely balance sheet reconciliations and manage strict monthly accounting close deadlines.
• Proven track record of maintaining internal controls and handling high-detail financial data.

Responsibilities

• Post and manage general ledger entries for wage expenses, payroll taxes, benefit expenses, withholdings, and insurance liabilities.
• Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger to confirm gross wages, employer taxes, and net pay post accurately.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for payroll accruals, health plans, retirement funds, and vendor invoices.
• Maintain the payroll accrual calendar to ensure timely calculations in line with the company's accounting close schedule.
• Support internal and external teams with documentation for benefit plan, financial audits, and disclosure reports.

Your Role:

As a Payroll and Benefits Accountant, you will:

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 4 to 6 years of general accounting or payroll accounting experience, preferably in a multi-regional/multi-currency environment.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS (or GAAP) principles as they relate to compensation, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and retirement plans.

• Demonstrated ability to perform timely balance sheet reconciliations and manage strict monthly accounting close deadlines.

• Proven track record of maintaining internal controls and handling high-detail financial data.

Preferred skills/expertise

• Experience working within a Shared Services Center (SSC) environment for global organizations.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex functions).

• Fluency in the Spanish language (spoken and written).

• Experience identifying automation opportunities and improving reporting workflows or administrative control processes.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills to partner with Accounts Payable, HR Benefits, and Payroll teams.
