The Patching Engineer is responsible for planning, testing, deploying, and monitoring operating system, application, firmware, and security patches across the organization's IT infrastructure. This role ensures systems remain secure, compliant, and operational by managing vulnerabilities, reducing security risks, and maintaining patch compliance standards for servers, workstations, network devices, and cloud environments.
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise patch management processes and procedures.
Schedule, test, and deploy operating system and application patches across Windows, Linux, and other supported platforms.
Manage firmware and software updates for servers, network equipment, and endpoint devices.
Monitor patch deployment activities and resolve installation failures or configuration issues.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to assess vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation efforts.
Review vulnerability scan results and ensure timely patching of identified security risks.
Track and report patch compliance metrics and remediation status.
Participate in security audits and compliance assessments.
Maintain the stability and availability of servers, operating systems, and network-connected infrastructure.
Perform impact assessments and risk evaluations before patch deployment.
Coordinate maintenance windows and communicate changes to stakeholders.
Troubleshoot issues arising from patch implementation and rollback procedures when necessary.
Utilize patch management tools and automation platforms to streamline deployment processes.
Develop scripts and automation workflows for patch installation, verification, and reporting.
Monitor system performance post-deployment and validate patch effectiveness.
Maintain documentation of patch schedules, procedures, and results.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, or Patch Management.
Experience managing Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization environments.
Familiarity with enterprise patching solutions
