Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or qualification in pastry arts from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in pastry kitchens.
• Proven expertise in pastries, breads, desserts, and confectionery items.
• Strong knowledge of lamination, fermentation, decoration, and plating.
• Leadership and supervisory experience with ability to inspire a team.
• Ability to read, interpret, and scale recipes for large-scale production.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Creative flair and passion for innovative pastry design and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pastry production, ensuring compliance with recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
• Produce a diverse range of pastries, breads, cakes, desserts, and confectionery per specs and seasonal menus.
• Train, supervise, and mentor pastry staff, ensuring food safety and hygiene.
• Manage pastry ingredients inventory, stock levels, and supplier orders.
• Develop and test new pastry recipes and dessert concepts to enhance menus.
• Maintain pastry equipment and ensure cleanliness and maintenance.
• Collaborate with head chef and kitchen teams for seamless service.
• Monitor food costs and assist in pastry budgeting.
