Job summary

Outsourcey in the Philippines is seeking an experienced landscape design and estimating professional to create residential landscape designs, develop 2D plans, and produce 3D renderings. You will estimate costs for concrete, pavers, irrigation, planting, and other hardscape elements, coordinating with vendors and the construction team.

The role requires strong Excel/Sheets skills, ability to read plans, and a solid background in landscape materials and installation methods.

Qualifications

• Min 2.5-5 years of proven experience in landscape design, landscape construction estimating, landscape architecture support, or a similar role.
• Previous experience creating residential landscape designs is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience preparing landscape construction estimates is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential landscaping and hardscape construction.
• Experience estimating concrete, pavers, retaining walls, irrigation, planting, and other landscape projects.
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, drawings, measurements, and construction specifications.
• Experience preparing material takeoffs and calculating labor and material costs.
• Proficiency with landscape design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vectorworks Landmark, PRO Landscape, or similar platforms.
• Experience creating 2D landscape plans is required.
• Experience with 3D landscape renderings is a major plus.
• Familiarity with landscape estimating software or construction estimating tools is preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Understanding of landscape materials, installation methods, and construction processes.
• Knowledge of irrigation, drainage, grading, and planting requirements.
• Familiarity with drought-tolerant landscaping and California native plants is a major plus.
• Experience with residential design-build landscaping companies is strongly preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to calculate quantities, measurements, and project costs accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with an on-site construction team.

Responsibilities

• Create residential landscape designs for front yards, backyards, and outdoor living spaces.
• Develop 2D landscape plans, layouts, and design concepts using landscape design software.
• Create 3D renderings and visual presentations when needed.
• Design patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, garden areas, and other outdoor features.
• Incorporate concrete, pavers, flagstone, decomposed granite, and other hardscape materials into designs.
• Develop planting layouts using trees, shrubs, native plants, and drought-tolerant landscaping.
• Assist with irrigation, drainage, grading, and lawn installation planning.
• Design outdoor features such as firepits, seating areas, water features, and decorative landscaping.
• Review customer requests, project specifications, property measurements, photos, and site plans.
• Translate customer ideas and requirements into practical landscape designs.
• Calculate material quantities, square footage, linear footage, and other project measurements.
• Estimate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare estimates for concrete, pavers, retaining walls, irrigation, planting, grading, and other landscape construction work.
• Create material takeoffs and detailed project cost breakdowns.
• Review supplier pricing and update material costs when necessary.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain material pricing and availability.
• Prepare accurate project proposals, estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Identify potential cost-saving alternatives without compromising design quality.
• Recommend materials and design adjustments based on customer budgets.
• Review project plans to identify missing information or potential construction challenges.
• Assist with estimating change orders and additional project work.
• Revise designs and estimates based on customer feedback.
• Ensure designs are practical and achievable for the construction team.
• Coordinate with the owner and field team regarding project scope, measurements, and installation requirements.
• Assist with preparing design documents for HOA review or approval when required.
• Maintain organized project files, drawings, estimates, and material lists.
• Update project information and estimate tracking spreadsheets.
• Assist with project budgeting and profitability analysis.
• Compare estimated costs against actual project expenses when information is available.
• Help improve estimating templates, design workflows, and project documentation.
• Communicate project updates and questions clearly with the owner and team.
• Complete assigned designs and estimates within established deadlines.
• Assist with additional landscape design, estimating, project planning, and administrative responsibilities as needed.
