Job summary

SourceU on behalf of an Australian bookkeeping and accounting practice is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Virtual Assistant. The role is part-time, 5 days a week, 4 hours daily, aligned with AEST business hours, working remotely and with one-on-one reporting to the business owner.

You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero, MYOB, and QBO, apply GST knowledge, onboard new clients, set up files, send engagement letters, and support admin tasks while maintaining accurate records and prompt

Qualifications

• Experience in an Australian tax practice.
• Solid bookkeeping experience with working understanding of Australian tax and GST.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using Xero, MYOB and QBO.
• Apply GST rules to GST-applicable and GST-free industries.
• Add new clients to the tax agent portal and internal systems.
• Set up client files and folders.
• Send out engagement letters and onboarding documents.
• Handle other admin tasks as assigned by the business owner.
• Keep accurate records of completed and outstanding tasks.
• Flag issues promptly to the business owner.
