Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP) is looking for a diligent, organized, and driven Paralegal to join our growing Legal Department.
The Paralegal will provide monitoring, enforcement, litigation, and administrative support to the Legal Department and will work under the supervision of the General Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the legal field and music industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Paralegal will be responsible for the following:
- Monitor music usage in establishments, concerts, events, broadcasts, digital services, and other music users as assigned.
- Prepare monitoring reports, statements, letters, and other documents necessary for enforcement and litigation activities.
- Collect, record, organize, safeguard, and preserve documents and evidence.
- Maintain evidence logs and ensure proper documentation and integrity of collected evidence.
- Provide field support in courts, tribunals, government agencies, and other offices.
- File, retrieve, photocopy, and process pleadings, orders, and other legal documents as required.
- Coordinate and correspond with law firms, litigants, government personnel, offices, and other relevant parties.
- Deliver evidence to courts or appropriate tribunals and, when required, testify regarding evidence personally collected or monitored.
- Prepare, maintain, and regularly update records and logs of accounts and cases handled or referred to the Legal Department.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Legal Department, including typing, proofreading, photocopying, scanning, filing, and archiving.
- Organize, log, route, and maintain legal and administrative documents.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, documentation, and other written materials.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external offices, and other parties as necessary.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the General Counsel or management.
- Ensure that all duties are performed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and FILSCAP policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree graduate.
- Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Staff, or in a related field is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willing to conduct field work and official travel as required.
- Patient, emotionally resilient, and capable of working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and high ethical standards.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to learn and work in the music and collective management industry.
