Job summary

Amentum seeks an Elevator Mechanic to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role is full-time, on-site, requiring installation, maintenance and repair of elevators and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and following safety and environmental requirements. Travel overseas is a condition of this assignment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Apprentice program with Journeyman’s Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience with sketches, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of European and/or US Electrical Codes.
• Familiar with maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems and load testing.
• Ability to travel internationally and possess a valid passport.
• Speak English and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and follow safety requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedules and procedures.
• Locate and diagnose trouble in brakes, motors, switches and controls.
• Disassemble, repair or replace parts including gears, cables and safety devices.
• Install or repair transformers, switchboards, controllers and circuit breakers.
• Work from blueprints and specifications to locate trouble.
• Provide input to maintenance content and frequency.
• Conduct electrical tests with voltmeters, ammeters and other tools.
• Other duties as assigned.
